Tin Foil Painting

Hallowe'en and pumpkins have hit our classroom.
I love the colours orange and black and it's bountiful right now.
Today using foil, paint rollers, q-tips with orange and black paint we created.

No matter what the project, if it involves paint rollers it lures most children to the table.

Simply roll a colour or two on to the foil then use a q-tip to draw a picture.

Chances are they will roll over their drawing again and again.

  3. Do you mix something into the paint so it won't flake off once it's dry. I have done this before and parents commented how much they liked it (and kids, of course ;-), but they said the paint came off after it dried. Any ideas?

  4. Once I saw your post I knew this would be a really fun activity!

I did it a little different using just black acrylic paint and paint brushes.

  5. Hi Anne
So far the paint hasn't flaked off and they've been hanging for two weeks.
What kind of paint are you using? Tempera? Acrylic?

  8. if you add just a bit of liquid soap to the tempera usually it will not flake. I use this mix for tempera etching or scratch art. so much fun!
