Down at the Seaweed Cafe
Down at the Seaweed Cafe is about playing restaurant at the beach.
The author, Robert Perry, is a local from Vancouver Island.
What is a cafe? A few children knew that it was a place to eat. Pots and pans, table cloth and shells was the invitation to learn more.
Meet the cook. He knew how to operate the handle to move the grill off the fire.
He busily filled his pots with ingredients found on the beach and
rotated them off and on the fire pit.
The cook’s assistant added some spices.
Or may a spider crab would be tasty.
At the front of the cafe the table was set with a variety of dishes.
Pebble pudding, seaweed salad, crab chowder all waiting for customers.
New owners moved in and brought more customers.
Families read the stories to their little ones then we enjoyed it as a whole group.
At the Seaweed Cafe the customers enjoy telling tall tales.
We practiced dancing like seaweed.
What an awesome day at our beach cafe.
