What's in the Tub, Tuesday?

Silk flower pelts filled the tub and they loved them.
Did you hear the giggle of joy in the video?
I so enjoyed watching them scoop the petals, lift them in the air and let them drop.
Their delight was infectious.
Of course they ended up on the floor.
At first I tried to discourage it but thought why?
Now that they were on the floor it encouraged them to explore in a different way.
On all fours going under, in and around the table.
I also put little pink and red rubber ducks in the tub and it took them a little while to find them.
The twins figured out, several weeks ago, how to take the white tub out of the table.
They like standing up in it and walking around.

Funny Fish

We have new a book about counting and animals that the oldest one really likes.
The last page has 10 funny fish.
I noticed that the fish had heart shapes for the fins and lips.
It inspired this craft.
The little one has been drawing for sometime and really enjoys it.
Today I showed her, hand over hand, how to make a circle.
She picked up on it fairly quickly and we ended up with 6 fish, 4 of them were her circles.
She was excited to use the glue stick to attach the hearts.
Great focus and concentration.

Happy Valentines 2019

This year I had the joy of making Valentine cards with my grand daughters.
I decided to try finger-painting with them to make handprints.

I used instant chocolate pudding which I made with water instead of milk.
Each of the girls' response to the 'paint' was different.
The oldest went at it like a pro, since she has experienced finger-paint before.
This one was hesitant and not quite sure what she should do with it.
This one stuck her finger right in
and continued from there.
She was the only one of the three that tasted it too.
Before I cleaned them up (in the bath) I pressed their hands on a big paper heart.

Valentines for Our Grandfriends

This morning our grand friends were coming to visit.
The children were invited to make a card to give to them.
Hearts, doilies, sparkly gems and confetti
encouraged the children to create.
The grand friends arrived while we were in gym so they watched us play.
Then we enjoyed story time together where we shared our songs
and a story.
Before the grand friends left the children handed them their
Valentine cards.

Valentines Collage

Everything pink, red and white today.
Small, large, sparkly, soft, smooth...
lots to explore.
When I was planning this activity I worried that it would
be one big mess as the children discovered what was in each basket.
I was impressed that they took their time and carefully
chose each item they wanted to use.
I like that some children brought other elements to the table.
This child picked a different coloured paper and used paint.
Hope you had a fun Valentine's Day.

Buddy Letters

Last week during our visit with our big buddies they shared a story with us.
They read The Jolly Postman and Other People's Letters.
They we wrote Valentine letters to each other.
We soon learned that many of our big buddies did not know their full address.
A casualty of technology possibly.
As they were busy making their cards I took pictures of the buddies.
With their card, the photo and Valentine card their envelopes were stuffed.
Will they arrive at their homes by Valentines Day?
