Story - The Mitten

This week we've learned the story "The Mitten".
We've read it, we acted it out and we used stuffies to retell the story.
We read other versions of the same story, one was called "The Old Man's Mitten"
Here is my version.

  1. Love this! :) My mom does some knitting- I've always wanted to ask her to knit a great big mitten for this story!

  2. I have a big white sheet cut into a mitten shape that we use when the children act it out.
I've printed the animal masks from the Jan Brett website
    http://www.janbrett.com/mitten_masks_main.htm
I attached the mask to a strip of paper and they wear it on their head.
Also we have a music teacher that comes in once a month and she taught us a song to go along with this.
Use a mitten and any animal you want and sing -
    "The hedgehog squeezes in,
    the hedgehog squeezes in.
Oh let me please so I don't freeze.
    The hedgehog squeezes in."
    Have fun!
