Sign of the Week - bean, grow

This week we are reading the story Jack and the Beanstalk so the signs we will be focusing on are bean and grow.

Little Bean in the Ground

Little bean in the ground  (children curl up on floor)
Sitting oh so still.    (with hands wrapped around head)
Little bean, will you sprout?
Yes, I will!       (jump up, arms stretch up high)

  1. I'll have to borrow your idea this week to extend our gardening activities. We have planted beans - which are growing well - so the kids will relate the song to their gardening! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I love your sign of the week feature. My mom is hard of hearing, so we are going to learn sign language to help her in the future.

Also, I featured your Color Walk post on my blog today. : )

  3. Leeanne - I'm glad you can use this for your program - have fun.

  4. LocalFun - Thanks for featuring the Colour Walk on your blog.
Prior to running a StrongStart program I was an interpreter for the Deaf. I'm very happy to be able to use ASL in my program - there are many families that are using baby sign with their little ones. It's a fun language and I hope you have fun learning it.
