Coffee Ground Fossils

Without much success with our baking soda clay yesterday, I still attempted another new recipe today, Coffee Ground Clay for making fossils.
It worked much better and the look is a lot more appealing.
What I liked about the baking soda clay more was the smooth consistency where the coffee ground clay with gritty.
Here's how it went today.

The fossil on the left was made with the baking soda clay and on the right with the coffee ground clay.

  1. How many fossils can you make with the 1 cup of grounds, 1/2cup of salt?
    Thanks.

    1. I'm sorry Emma but we made those fossils almost 2 years ago and I can't remember how many it made. It would depend how much you gave to each child. Looking at the photos we used tiny dinosaurs so each child might have got about 1/4 cup of the dough. I would guess between 6-8 small fossils.
