Little Treasures

                      july 2012 003
I found a new home business in Burnaby last week when I was attending a conference.

It’s called Little Treasures and they create ‘invitations’ in a kit.
“Discover how natural and real materials can be used
in creative ways for children.”

I purchased three of their kits and could have bought more but finally took control of myself.

The kits are beautiful, attractive and I just wanted to get my hands on them.

I believe in using real materials with children, it adds authenticity to their play.  Using natural materials, wood, bamboo, glass, etc.  lends to the sensory exploration in play.

Plus it is aesthetically pleasing.

I can’t wait for them to have their website up and running.

  1. Just found you via rubber boots and elf shoes. We have a strong start program at our school, too. I'm in Victoria. Do you know Tanya? I teach grade 1 but I'm trying to incorporate more play into my day. You've got lots of cool ideas that I think even my 5 and 6 year olds would enjoy.
    Take care.

    1. Thanks Barbara. Sorry that I don't know Tanya. I do know one facilitator in Sooke but that's it.

  2. Those play invitations look amazing - were they at the Reggio conference in Vancouver?
I was all registered for it - but they some family stuff came up and I had to change plans.

Looking forward to seeing their website.

    1. HI Sandi
Yes they were at the conference. Sorry you had to miss it - it was very inspirational.
Just got an email from the ladies at Little Treasures and they say there are Facebook. I've searched and can't find them so asked them to send me the link. Once I get it, I'll post it. They said they are always updating it with new kits.

  3. Maureen, you are an amazing teacher. I admire you!
