Bangles

Shopping at a thrift store I found a bag of metal bracelets.

They work great in an old wipe container.

So much fun to grab them and drop them on the floor.

They make a sound when they are dropped.

I tried to spin them too.

Then I showed them how to put them on their arms.

Salad Spinner as a Toy

Last week while thrifting I found a salad spinner.

That's not too exciting as they are easy to find

but this one works differently then the others we have.

To make the bowl spin you have to pump up and down

instead of turning a knob around and around.

And an added bonus is this salad spinner is see-through.

The youngest children loved to see what was inside the spinner.

The older children were intrigued on how to make it work

and watching the coloured pom poms spin.

Another Excellent Thrift Store Find

This is our newest toy.  I found it at Value Village.

At first I thought it might be magnetic blocks but once

I opened the bag I realized they were connected by a cord

that runs through each.

I think it probably started as a cube shape

 but the children were intrigued

by how it moved and that they could change it's shape.

I know a toy is really good when the grown ups are just as interested

as the children.

Another Simple Toy from the Thrift Store

An old paper towel roll holder and a basket of bracelets.

Sorting, stacking, choosing, placing

and tossing.

                                  Great eye hand coordination practice

Simple, cheap and fun.
